Next up is a book titled 'Learn to Quilt'. I have recently started on my first ever quilt, so I thought it might be nice to offer this. Of course, you might be an experienced quilter - there are lots of lovely pictures and inspiration in this!
To enter this giveaway just leave a comment telling me who your next quilt is for - is it your first ever quilt? Who is it for? Yourself? Someone special? Is it a gift?
i have 4 quilts started, one will be for my granddaughter, my little brother seems to really like one of them (so I might suprise him with it), one is for the guestroom my grandchildren use and the 4th is to use up all the scraps i've been accumulating. if i win the book i would give it to my oldest granddaughter (11) because she likes to sew with me when she stays here and is a very talented and creative girl.

I guess you would count this as my 3rd quilt, but the the last one was small and may not technically count as a quilt. Right now I'm making a cowboy quilt with my 4-year-old. He's helping me embroider cowboy pictures that he drew. It's fun, but a long project. I could really use a book like this to help me along, as I have a lot to learn.
ReplyDeleteI have started a t-shirt quilt with my college t-shirts but I'm kind of stuck as to where to go next. This would be great for me!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on a quilt that is to be a wedding present for my high school best friend. I really hope she loves it!

ReplyDeleteI've made quite a few quilts. Some for wedding gifts, some for baby gifts and of course some for our family. My current quilt is a quilt for my son.
ReplyDeleteI just started my first quilt on Sunday of last week. Only 12 more blocks (out of 36) to go! I'm loving it so far. And its staying right in my living room once I'm finished so I can cuddle up with it on the couch while watching tv and reading blogs.
ReplyDeleteI've never made a quilt, but I've been wanting to try. My first would be for me. Seems like everything I've made recently has been for someone else, so I think it's finally my turn. I really like the zig zag pattern.
ReplyDeleteI have never made a quilt and want to learn so this book would be great! I think the first quilts I would make would be for my kids.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first quilt in a long while. It's been years, and I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteMy next quilt will be my first and it'll be for my daughter. I'm hoping to use pieces of her baby clothes...we'll see how it goes! I'd love the book!
ReplyDeletechicaschmica (at) gmail.com
Ha, this is so perfect! I am finally finishing my first quilt that I started before I ever had kids. And I am halfway done with my second quilt. I'm going to keep my first quilt and the second one I am making to take to Ethiopia.
ReplyDeleteI've been planning on putting together my first patchwork quilt this summer - for my boyfriends parents (his mother got me into sewing, and made me a beautiful one for Christmas!)
ReplyDeleteI've been planning on making (my first!) a quilt for my niece since it's a family tradition that everyone in my family get a quilt from my grandmother. Since she passed away years ago, I've taken up the task of continuing that tradition. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to start on a quilt or any pattern at all so this book will help out lots! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am 8. I am learning how to sew. I have been doing some embroidery stitches. My 6 year old brother is learning some too. I hope to be on the machine before the end of summer. There are pictures of both of us sewing together and of our projects on my blog. Further down in previous posts, I also have pictures of my family, mom, dad, 15 month brother and other brother and sister. We homeschool.
I am having a giveaway as well at

ReplyDeleteThanks for offering this book. I am a new quilter and am in the middle of making 2 different quilts. I'm not sure who for - it will depend how they look when finished but either of my children are welcome to them.
ReplyDeleteI've got 3 quilts going right now. all the tops are done. i'm getting 2 of them professionally quilted (one is for myself and one is for a long-time girlfriend — they're matching!) and the third one I'm going to try my hand at quilting myself.
ReplyDeleteI used wonderland charm packs for the first 2 and the 3rd one is made from t-shirt scraps.
thanks for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI have just begun quilting, but I (try to)make baby quilts for the local hospitals.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you to do this, please put my name in the drawing :)
My next quilt will be my second quilt ever and it's for my bed. I'm going to try to make it out of my husband's old t-shirts. He won't give them up unless I immortalize them somehow and what's better than a quilt!
ReplyDeleteI would love that. I am just starting to quilt & def. will need help.

ReplyDeleteAny clues on where I have hidden it?
Oh...great giveaway! I just recently got my machine as well, so I have not made a quilt yet. It's something I really want to try to do soon. First, I am making a patchwork duvet cover for my cousin as a graduation-housewarming gift. Then I'll attempt a quilt. ReplyDeleteI am sure that book will offer some great tips!
My FIRST ever quilt will hopefully be a baby quilt for my son...while he's still a baby!

I've got one quilting book that has taught me lots so far, but I'd love another just to get some more ideas.
ReplyDeleteNow I've entered #2 and #3, but I can't enter #1 becuase the comment box is cut off, so when it gets to the word varification part it won't let me see the whole thing. I don't know if this is just me, but I wanted to let you know. This probably won't count, and I understand perfectly, but I'll put my answer to the question in #1 here anyway.
"My favorite Amy Butler prints are lotus in yellow and full moon dots in lime. I can't believe you have the lime dots, I've been looking for them everywhere. I've also never made a bag, but its on my to-do list. How cool would it be to make my first bag with one of my favorite fabrics!?"

First quilt ever. want to learn but little afraid. Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI have 3 quilts in progress, for three sisters who lost their house (as in, in burnt down) during our recent devastating fires here in Victoria Australia. I don't know the girls (17, 14 and 4), but they are friends of an old school friend of mine. Hope they like them!

2 of my best friends are having babies in November. I usually knit baby blankets but coz there's 2 I won't have time!!
ReplyDeleteEmbarking on baby quilts instead!!!
Any suggestions on neutral colour schemes as they're both having "wait and see" babies?
Tia xxx
My next quilt is in the process it's for my nephew. Since you have a toddler you might like it as well. It's a tumbling block quilt, it has three flannel fabrics for little kids, and it is also a rag quilt, inbetween the group of 3 diamonds you rag the quilt. It is just so pretty. when I am done I will post a picture of it. I am excited about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the giveaway!

This would be amazing! I'm wanting to learn to quilt so badly I can't stand it, but I'm also a bit afraid to jump off the dock too so to speak. I've seen several beginer quilt-a-longs online recently, and I'd start with one of those. I'd probably keep the quilt for myself since I'd be so happy to have finally done it!
ReplyDeletethis would be my 1st ever quilt. it'll definitely be for my 2 tots & probably with fabric of animals. abby
